Prague is the capital city of the Czech Republic. It is such a beautiful city with so many Instaworthy spots. The city has a fairy-tale atmosphere since it is full of medieval buildings and colorful houses. Prague is really worth visiting and this post tells you where to go to fully enjoy this amazing city and where to take the best photos.
Karlova is the famous street to the famous Chales Bridge that begins at the Square of the Knights of the Cross. If you follow the Royal Route from the Old Town of Prague to Prague Castle, you will walk through this street. It is a very long street with many good photo spots. You can also find here a lot of places to get delicious food and to buy the best souvenirs!
Old Town Square
This is the historical square in the Old Town quarter of the city. A lot of important buildings can be found here. For example, the St. Nicholas Church, the Prague Astronomical Clock, the Church of Our Lady before Týn, and the Golz-Kinsky Palace. Besides these buildings, you can also find the Jan Hus monument and a lot of restaurants on this square. It is one of Prague’s most famous squares, so crowds guaranteed.
This Charles Bridge is one of the most iconic sights of Prague. It is such an old bridge dating back to the 1400’s. The bridge is about 516 meters long and 10 meters wide, and you can find many artists, musicians and souvenir sellers on the bridge. This iconic bridge connects the Old Town of Prague with the Malá Strana district. On the Charles Bridge you can find 30 statues in Baroque style and there are three towers to protect the bridge. The structure consists of 16 arches with ice guards and it is claimed that through the mortar used for the bridge, protein was mixed to obtain greater strength. All in all, it is a wonderful bridge to walk across and to take the most stunning pictures.
The Square in Front of the Golden Star Hotel
The square in front of the Golden Star Hotel is so cute! Around the square you can find a lot of amazing buildings. You can take here definitely good photos.
The Lennon Wall
The Lennon Wall is a popular sight in Prague. The Lennon Wall can be found in Mala Strana, near the French Embassy. The wall is called ‘The Lennon Wall’ since the 1980’s, when people filled it with John Lennon-inspired graffiti. Pop songs were banned by Communist authorities and, after the murder of John Lennon in 1980, Czech youth became seeing John Lennon as a hero. This wall represented as a memorial to John Lennon, a monument that stands for freedom of speech, and the non-violent rebellion of Czech youth against the regime.
The Mirror Maze in Petrin Park
We did not planned a visit to the Mirror Maze, but we came across it after visiting the Petrin Lookout Tower. You can visit the Mirror Maze for 90 CZK (€3.45) as an adult or 70 CZK (€2.69) as a student. It is a fun experience, so if you have enough time, it is nice to visit! You can take a lot of photos here, but do not expect too much of it!
Probably one of my favorite places in Prague. The street is so colorful and cute. You can get delicious Trdelnik in this street! Trdelnik is a cylindrical pastry sprinkled with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Besides, you can take amazing photo shots here!
Madame Tussauds Praha
Well… I was a bit of a fan girl when I was younger. Madame Tussauds is a great place to visit during your stay in Prague. The museum offers you such a nice experience. You can visit the museum for 250 CZK (€9.59) as an adult or 170 CZK (€7.00) as a student.
The Dancing House
The Dancing House is a funny building that is inspired by the two dancers Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and designed by Vlado Milunić and Frank Gehry in 1992. However, the construction of the Dancing House was completed in 1996. The style of this building is known as deconstructivist or new-baroque and contrasts with the Baroque, Gothic and Art Nouveau style of the city’s other buildings. That is one of the reasons why this building is a striking and special building in Prague. You can take some cool photos here!
The Astronomical Clock
The Astronomical Clock is a very special building with a beautiful clockwork. The clock is over 600 years old and it is one of the oldest functional astronomical clocks in the world. Every hour from 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m., the clock strikes. It is an amazing experience to look at the clock while striking. In addition, you can also enter the tower (250 CZK (€9.59) as an adult or 150 CZK (€5.76) as a student or child). From the top of the tower, you have a very nice view across the city!
No words needed. This place is amazing! The library is one of the most valuable and best preserved historical libraries. This hall dates from 1794. You can visit the library for 150 CZK (€5.76) as an adult or 80 CZK (€3.07) as a student.
Ice Pub Prague
Last, but not least…ICE Pub Prague! We went on a pub crawl one night and Karlovy Lazne was the last visit of this pub crawl. Karlovy Lazne is the biggest club in Prague. The club has five floors with all a different theme. In this club you can find the ICE Pub. Everything in this pub is made of ice (the walls, tables, chairs and even the drink glasses). Before you enter, you need to put on a thermo poncho. The pub is -7 degrees and that is why you can only be inside for 30 minutes. You do not have to pay to enter the pub when you are already in Karlovy Lazne at night, but you have to pay one cocktail in advance (150 CZK (€5.76) per person). In addition to getting a great experience, you can also take a lot of great photo shots in this pub!
Thank you for reading my blog post! Those were all my favorite photo spots in Prague. I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post and found inspiration for your next trip to this beautiful capital city of the Czech Republic.
